The drinks menu truly accentuates the cultural experience of dining at KABABI.

Small, family-run & full of heart. They're not just serving Persian flavours-they're creating jobs & opportunities for refugees, asylum seekers & new migrants. Think aesthetic, cosy vibes+ Persian brunch heaven..just remember they're closed Sundays. We kicked off with soul-soothing teas: Saffron Cardamom Tea - sweet, fragrant, pure heaven. North Iranian Handpicked Black Tea - rich, vibrant, soul-hugging goodness Kashk e Bademjan - charred eggplant magic with turmeric onions, garlic, mint & Kashk, served with warm Lavash. Honestly? Obsessed. Kebab Koobideh - saffron-sumac lamb mince kebab, perfectly tender, paired with saffron barberry rice, salad & dips. Ended on a high with Noon e Khamei - whipped cream bread that's not always on the menu, so ask! Thank me later. Persian flavours, heartfelt hospitality & a purpose that truly matters. This is your sign to brunch here.

We arrived for dinner on a Friday night to try Persian food. They were very busy and unfortunately there was a 30 minute wait, however it was worth it. We ordered the Jujeh Kebab ($25) and the Kebab Torsh ($29). Both dishes were delicious because of the flavourful lamb and zesty chicken. Each dish is accompanied by fresh saffron barberries rice, salad, shalot dip, char chilli and grilled tomato. I'm not a nutritionist but for me the food was healthy and tasty, which isn't something I would normally say when eating out for dinner. I loved the vibrant colours on the plate and the tangy flavours that came with it. If you want fresh tasting and delicious food, then look no further. There was a 30 minute wait for the food, but it was understandable with how busy they were at the time, and the tastiness of the food also made up for it. Would love to come back and try their lunch menu.

Rishma is amazing, she’s not just an employee but honestly feels like part of Chef Hamed’s family. She told us all about the books, the food and Persian culture. The food was incredible that anyone who didn’t come here seriously missed out. It’s not just an Persian restaurant. As a Turk, I can say this was one of the best kebabs I’ve ever had. The presentation and portions were perfect and every dollar they make is so well deserved. I got a chance to take a quick look at Chef Hamed’s book, he’s poured his feelings and memories into his dishes. It’s really meaningful. I hope this place grows even more.

Today I had a wonderful experience at this Persian restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff are incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. The appetisers were generous, the kebabs were some of the tastiest I’ve ever had, and every dish was full of flavour. It’s truly the best Persian food I’ve had in Melbourne. The portions are generous, the variety is great, and the hospitality makes you feel right at home. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Persian cuisine who's flavours jump off the plate just like the colours. The chicken and lamb is grilled to perfection on the open fire and the marinades are full of flavour but still light and bright. Spiced rice, veggies and pomegranate compliment the meat. There are many vegetarian options and I tried the Mirza Ghasemi which is a charred eggplant with saffron and was delicious. I must remember to try their exotic sounding teas next time. Lovely and warm atmosphere tops it off, definitely worth the visit to the industrial location which must be necessary to manage costs.
